A cordon has been erected around a property in Shanklin this morning (Sunday) as Police investigate the circumstances surrounding a woman’s leg injury.
Officers were called to Shanklin at 06:53 when paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service requested the assistance of Police.
Responding officers located a woman who had suffered an injury to her leg – thought to have been caused by a knife. She has since been taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment, where she remains.
There is currently a scene guard in place around a block of flats at Butler Gardens in the town as Police seek to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
A trial of blood can be seen down an alleyway off Victoria Avenue that leads to the rear of the flats.

UPDATE @ 16:03 – Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that a 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent – allegedly stabbing the victim in the leg with a knife.
The crime scene around Butler Gardens relates to the arrest, with the victim found at nearby Osborne Road.

Is this the same flats that skag head launched the flower pots through the windows and door??
A very poorly managed and underfunded service where vulnerable people are left unsupported for too long enabling such terrible incidents to occur!
