Rent-to-own retailer Brighthouse has received applications from more than 200 people to work at its new store in Newport, which opens today (Thursday).
The 11 successful candidates, chosen from a shortlist of 30 people, are now preparing to open the doors to welcome the first customers to the new 3,000 sq ft store on the High Street, in the former Dorothy Perkins premises.
A Grand Opening will be held on Saturday 2nd April.
Ryan Bodington, Customer Sales Adviser, said:
“It’s been exciting to get to know our chosen colleagues after so many applications. We’ve got a great team in place who I’m confident will provide first class customer service to the Newport community.”
Dale Rockall, Deputy Manager, added:
“I couldn’t believe how tough the competition was for the positions, and I’m really pleased to be joining the new store at the heart of the community I live in. We’ve just finished four weeks of training in customer service and sales, and now we can’t wait to get into the store and start getting to know our local customers.”
To mark the store’s opening, on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd April children will be able to have their face painted and Billy & Lilly, the BrightHouse bears, will be on hand to entertain. Along with a DJ to add to the fun, there will be fantastic opening offers on some of the leading brands.
