WANTED: ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR WOMAN ACCUSED OF HOTEL ARSON

Magistrates have issued an arrest warrant for 62-year-old Paula Skelly, who is accused of arson, after she failed to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Friday).

As first reported by Island Echo yesterday, Miss Skelly of Jersey Road, Fratton in Portsmouth was due to appear before the Newport court this morning accused of setting fire to the St Mortiz and Tarvic 2 hotels in Sandown back in September.

It’s said that on 2nd September 2018 at Culver Parade in Sandown, Paula Skelly committed arson in that without lawful excuse she destroyed by fire the St Moritz Hotel and the Tarvic 2 Hotel of a value unknown belonging to Julion Jayerajah and Farid Barsoum, contrary to the Criminal Damage Act 1971.

Police will now be actively seeking Miss Skelly and, should she be found, she will be arrested and detained in custody without bail to be brought before the next available court.
