A 55-year-old man from Newport died in Ventnor yesterday evening (Thursday) after suffering a medical episode, it has been confirmed. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service mobilised an ambulance crew and a critical care paramedic to an address on the High Street at just gone 18:00. A fire engine from Shanklin was also sent on a medical response, accessing Ventnor via the closed Leeson Road. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary also responded to the incident on blue lights and sirens. Police have confirmed today that a 55-year-old man, from Newport, suffered a medical episode. He died at the scene. His family have been informed and a file is now being prepared for the coroner.
