THE Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat has this evening been called to escort a rib to port following engine problems.
Crews were called shortly before 16:00 to reports that a 6ft RIB was suffering with engine failure on its way to Portsmouth Harbour.
The West Wight lifeboat was launched and travelled south of St Catherine’s Point and is now escorting the vessel to Portsmouth Harbour.
In a rare situation, Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat can be seen this evening on the East coast of the Island, leaving the West coast with cover from Freshwater Lifeboat.
