A 26-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
The woman, from Newport, was arrested at around 19:30 last night (Tuesday) after being spoken to by police officers in Nicholson Road, Ryde.
Officers from the Joint Operations Unit were joined by Response & Patrol units just off Great Preston Road.
Island Echo understands that the car, a red Skoda Fabia, had been reported stolen from Binstead twice earlier on this week.
The detained woman currently remains in custody.

This doesn’t add up! How can the car be reported stolen twice!! For starters she must have had the keys, those cars are very well immobilised with a chip in key. So after the first time, wouldn’t you make sure all the keys were well secure and it couldn’t happen again.
She was a client of the cars owner. That’s how !
The poor woman had no chance of escaping, by the time she put her make up, brushed her hair
and then the complicated bit finding where the steering wheel is.
Same car stolen twice the week earlia???well well done the owner for trying too deter the 3rd attempt lol
Classy ryde girl ha ha not
