A 41-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident at a holiday park in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
Hampshire Constabulary say they are investigating reports of an assault on a man at Lower Hyde Holiday Park.
The 44-year-old suffered minor injuries during the incident and did not require hospital treatment.
A 41-year-old woman – believed to be from the Isle of Wight – has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. She remains in custody at this time as detectives probe the full circumstances of the incident.
Police were seen conducting enquiries in the Perowne Way area of Sandown this morning in connection with the investigation, which Island Echo is told remains ongoing at this time.
UPDATE SUNDAY – Police have confirmed that the 41-year-old woman has been released from custody.
She has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
