WOMAN ACCUSED OF SANDOWN HOTEL ARSON PLEADS NOT GUILTY

62-year-old Paula Skelly has pleaded not guilty to arson in relation to a fire that ripped through 2 hotels in Sandown last year.

It is alleged Ms Skelly flicked a cigarette butt into a pile of rubbish on 2nd September 2018, which in turn caused fire damage to both the Tarvic 2 and St Mortiz hotels.

A plea of not guilty was entered during an appearance at the Isle of Wight Crown Court in Newport this morning (Monday).

The case has been adjourned until 5th August for the trial.
