Cross-Solent operator Wightlink have issued a series of cancellations on their Yarmouth to Lymington service for today (Wednesday), the latest in a run of problems for the company’s vessels across all three routes.
Due to engine problems, Wightlink say they have had to cancel the 10:20, 13:20 and 16:20 sailings from Lymington and the 11:40, 14:40 and 17:40 sailings from Yarmouth.
It comes just days after a ‘technical issue’ was to blame for 6 cancelled crossings on the same route, with further disruption for customers on Monday.
Earlier this morning, it was announced that the Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth catamaran service would be operating hourly after the 06:40 from Portsmouth and the 07:10 from Ryde Pier Head were cancelled. In less than 5 minutes, however, it was said the service was back to normal timetable.
Yesterday, 4 crossings were cancelled on the catamaran route with both the Fishbourne and Yarmouth services running up to 40 minutes behind timetable over the past week or so.
