Firefighters have been called to a residential property in Binstead this morning (Monday).
2 fire appliances from Ryde have been mobilised to a detached bungalow on Hamilton Road, where a small washing machine fire has broken out.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus have entered the property armed with a hose reel.
UPDATE @ 12:05 – It has been confirmed that the fire was out upon arrival of firefighters, who have since isolated the appliance and removed it from the property.
Both crews have now stood down from the incident but not before ensuring the home is protected with working smoke alarms.
