The much-loved Cold War AVRO Vulcan bomber will fly over the Isle of Wight this afternoon (Saturday) whilst in transit between airshows.
It has been confirmed that the loud and dominating 60’s bomber, which last flew over the Island on 22nd August, will once again pass overhead with the best views to be had on the North side of the Island.
The official route shows XH558 flying up the Solent before crossing Cowes and down the Western Solent towards Swanage, the same advertised route as last Saturday. However, last week the Bomber diverted slightly South flying straight over Ryde. In any case the Vulcan will be visible from the North coast of the Island.
At 15:20 the plane is due to be at Selsey Bill, meaning Islanders should have their eyes to the skies between 15:20-15:40.
