Organisers of the inaugural Wight Proms event, to take place at Northwood House in August, have announced a chart-topping line-up for the outdoor-picnic concert ‘Last Wight of the Proms’.
The Classical Brit Award-winning vocal group, Blake, who have just released their 10th anniversary album in collaboration with the RAF to celebrate their 100th anniversary, will be performing at Northwood House on Saturday 19th August for the ‘Last Wight at the Proms’ element of the 4-day event.
Mary-Jess, the Downton Abbey Songstress who is currently G4’s Guest Soprano on their 40-date UK tour, will also be performing on the night.
A 50-piece Isle of Wight Promenade Orchestra has been created especially for The Wight Proms this year. The orchestra will be conducted by the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra’s Jonathan Butcher.
The ‘Last Wight of the Proms’ will also see performances from supporting acts from across the island, who will perform between gates opening and the main concert starting.
The brand-new, annual festival of open-air picnic concerts at Northwood House, Cowes will celebrate the Isle of Wight’s music, food and people and will feature red squirrels, free arts workshops and the inaugural ‘Proms Art & Sculpture Exhibition’.
Tickets now on sale, with ‘Early Bird’ discount tickets still available at www.wightproms.co.uk/tickets or 01983 213622.
