The Thames Valley Air Ambulance has landed in Shanklin this morning (Tuesday) at the request of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The red helicopter has touched down in the playing field of St Blasius Academy off Batts Road.
Island Echo understands the flying doctors and paramedics are attending to a patient at an address in nearby St John’s Road.
The call for assistance was made at around 10:00.
UPDATE – The air ambulance is understood to have landed on the helipad at St Mary’s Hospital having departed from Shanklin.
