SPILLAGE SEES ISLAND ROADS CREWS DESCEND ON WROXALL

A large diesel spill originating from an articulated lorry has resulted in a clean up operation in Wroxall this afternoon (Thursday).

Island Roads have been using spill kits to clear the sticky situation at St Martin’s Road, just off the main Wroxall to Ventnor route.

It is understood that a fuel tank on a lorry tractor unit ruptured outside Travis Perkins on Station Road at around midday, sending diesel pouring down the hill.

The vehicle has now been recovered from the scene by a local recovery firm and Island Roads are working to clear the carriageway the best they can.
