Fire crews from Ryde and Newport have responded to reports of a burning smell coming from a kitchen appliance at a property in Wootton this lunchtime (Friday).
2 appliances were mobilised to Church Road at around 11:50 after a homeowner alerted the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service to a potential dishwasher fire at their detached home.
The first crew on scene quickly established that no fire was present but checked the appliance and surrounding areas. No firefighting action was required.
