The driver of a Skoda Yeti suffered a minor injury after ploughing into a parked car in the village of Wellow last night.
It was just gone 21:20 when emergency services were alerted to the smash on Main Road.
It’s understood the driver behind the wheel of the Skoda lost control, colliding into a bank and then into a parked car.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed 2 vehicles were involved, with 1 person suffering a minor injury.

Lost control? More like poor driving or under the influence.
Everyday I see vehicles speeding on the island
Yes SPEEDING
Shame the so called authorities don’t!
Also look at vehicles when they are parked in
traffic queues, majority of them are on their phones.
ISLAND ROADS ARE SHOCKING I CANNOT BELIEVE THE
2 ISLAND MPs CANNOT SEE THE PROBLEM WITH ISLAND ROADS.
“Khan is right-20mph is plenty”
but has Genghis Kahn actually been to the Isle of Wight, and looked at the roads, and the distances between towns, and the traffic and specifically declared for the Isle of Wight that (in his opinion) “20mph is plenty”??
if not, stop trying to claim that he has..!!!
I bet if he actually came here, he would disagree with you
The island is run by clueless buffoons
Khan knows 20mph is plenty
Birmingham are also rolling out 20mph is plenty.
“THE ISLAND IS BEHIND THE TIMES WITH ROAD SAFETY”
HENCE CRASHES EVERYDAY, YRS EVERYDAY
20mph is the only way to go thesedays because so many s
selfish uneducated inconsiderate B’stards SPEED
There are crashes every day everywhere its down to a lot off things the island is no different ,You moan every day about this, so why don’t you move as your obviously not happy with the island
I moan because I CARE, unlike many B’stards
who don’t give a Fcuk.
The island is different to other places, the island doesn’t
have speed camera’s
Khan’s London has speed camera’s everywhere
THEY SLOW PEOPLE DOWN
Bless you
More shit driving again at least off the road for now.
Age and gender of driver? Was he/she/they given a drink/drug test? Will they be charged with careless driving? Who pays for the cost of the emergency services attendance? What about the innocent owner of the parked car? Will he or she be compensated for all the inconvenience, time and trouble of getting their car back to where it was before the crash? How often does this organ report on a charge of driving without dure care and attention, careless or or dangerous driving? I suspect no action will be taken in this and so many other examples of frighteningly bad driving because its much easier and more profitable to slap a big fine on an otherwise good, thoughtful and careful driver for going five miles an hour over the limit in perfectly safe conditions? I think we should be told., dont you?
Plenty of judgement without knowing the facts !
It may have been a medical incident or avoiding an animal.
But keep on making your opinionated views anyway.
but the report does state “the driver behind the wheel of the Skoda lost control”..
and no mention of ambulance,.. so doesn’t sound like ‘a medical incident’
and while ‘trying to avoid an animal’, is a noble and honourable thing to do,.. if you can’t do so, without the risk of causing much greater damage or potential injury, then you really shouldn’t try to..
What would the outcome have been if a parent was just getting their young child into the parked car at the time ???
There really is no excuse for loosing control, colliding into a bank and then into a parked car.
There are too many vehicles on island roads
many households own 5+ vehicles hence roads
cluttered with vehicles.
Start charging islandwide permit parking charges and
that will reduce the amount of vehicles on Island roads.
Also charge higher road fund licence fees by vehicle
size.
