COASTGUARD rescue teams and the Ryde Inshore Rescue lifeboat were called to Ryde Pier this evening amid fears a man had jumped from the structure.
Emergency services received reports shortly before 21:30 that a man had jumped from the south end of Ryde Pier and was injured on the sand below.
Police, Coastguard and lifeboat crews conducted a search of the area to find the unknown man, who was later found safe and well.
The situation was found to be less serious than first thought. The search concluded at 22:40.
