ELDERLY WOMAN COLLIDES WITH BUS


EMERGENCY services are currently attending an RTC outside Ryde golf course, Binstead.

An elderly woman in a black Hyundai  hatchback has collided with the back of a double decker bus operated by Southern Vectis shortly after 09:15 this morning.

Two fire appliances including the rescue tender from Newport Fire Station are at the scene currently attempting to rescue the lady from her vehicle.

It is reported that the vehicle was locked, stopping access to the car.

Traffic is building up heavily in the area.

UPDATED: 

The woman has now been freed from the locked car and paramedics have taken her to St. Mary’s hospital for treatment.

Traffic is calming in the area.
