Efforts to locate missing 22-year-old Rosie Johnson continue today (Thursday) as a major search enters its third day.
Rosie, who is the niece of a Scottish Member of Parliament and hails from Glasgow, was last seen on New Road in Wootton on Sunday evening.
Dozens of Police officers, volunteers from both WightSAR and HantSAR plus officers from HM Coastguard have been searching high and low in the area of Wootton Creek and PGL Activity Centre, where Rosie works. The National Police Air Service helicopter from Redhill was in the skies over Wootton last night.
Despite the significant number of resources involved, Rosie is yet to be located. Rosie’s family are being supported here on the Island after flying down from Scotland.
Members of the Wootton community and surrounding areas are being asked to carry out a thorough search any sheds, outbuildings or boats.

Rosie is said to have mousey brown hair and is of slim build. She was last seen wearing a dark blue puffa jacket and trousers.
Inspector Andy MacDonald said yesterday:
“We have serious concerns for Rosie’s welfare. Information suggests she is still on the island so this is where we are focussing our search. However, we would ask anyone with any information about her whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible”.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting 44190217273.

Why are no posters of Rosie in the area she is missing from, or that matter anywhere for the public to see?.
“Rosie, who is the niece of a Scottish Member of Parliament … ”
does it really matter who she is ?,.. does that effect how hard they look for her ?? (I doubt it)
Does any one out there have any update. Local news seems more concerned with, Boris who ever he is visiting the island yesterday. Surely the welfare of a young woman missing is of greater concern than some politicians visiting.
