The Cowes Floating Bridge service across the River Medina will be suspended later today (Sunday) to allow for repairs to be undertaken.
It has been confirmed by the Isle of Wight Council that the service will not be operating between 14:00-18:00.
It’s said that this disruption is whilst works take place to repair the Northwest prow pin.
A passenger and cyclist launch service will be in operation during this time.

I gave up on this piece of shit since it replaced the
more reliable floating bridge.
(Nowdays it’s more out of service than it is in service)

Did the bridge not come with a warranty? It cost enough taxpayers money. The service is ridiculously unreliable and runs at a loss costing taxpayers year after year money for a service which is at best patchy and often non-existent. Perhaps it is time to call time on this service and just let people drive round.
It’s about time the Royal Navy put it out of its
misery.
Is it not time to scrap the whole idea of a vehicle ferry. Just have a launch for pedestrians/cyclist. For the small percentage of cars that use it is it really worth it at the islands tax payers expence.
