bombdisposalportsmouthRoyal Navy Bomb Disposal experts have this afternoon attended Osborne House in East Cowes after three artillery shells were discovered by members of staff, one of which is believed to date back to Victorian times.

A 999 call was made to Police who in turn requested the attendance of the Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Team from Portsmouth.

The projectiles, around 4 inches in length, were safely removed and have been taken away for destruction.
