2 appliances from Newport and 1 from Freshwater were mobilised to a bungalow in the residential street following a call from Police. It’s at Sunset Close where crews found the fire to be out upon arrival, but the property was smoke logged leading to positive pressure ventilation being used.
Paramedics are understood to have tonight checked over at least 1 occupant of the bungalow, but no one has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
All emergency services have now stood down from the incident but not before placing an evidence bag across the front door.

A 53-year-old man was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
In a dramatic turn of events, Police, fire and ambulance crews have been called back to the scene this morning… Read more at https://www.islandecho.co.uk/forensic-investigation-underway-after-substance-thrown-at-freshwater-man/.
