UPDATED: Police are understood to be carrying out a search for a 70-year-old female who has gone missing whilst on holiday in Sandown today (Tuesday).
The woman, who is said to suffer from dementia, hasn’t been seen since around 10:00 this morning. She has been staying at the Ocean Hotel in Sandown and was last seen wearing a white rugby-style shirt.
Police are conducting a search of the Sandown area both on foot and in vehicles, however Hampshire Constabulary are yet to issue an appeal for information or a description of the elderly woman.
UPDATE @ 17:30 – No further information has been made available and the search is said to have been notably scaled back.
It is thought the woman has since been found safe and well.
