A 39-year-old man is under investigation for burglary, assault and a public order offence following an incident in central Ryde on Wednesday, with Police searching a car in the High Street yesterday in connection with the incident.
It is alleged that at around 18:20 on Wednesday evening (14th May), a man forced entry to an address on St John’s Road before pushing the occupant and making threats.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says that the parties are known to one another and the incident is connected to an ongoing dispute.
As part of the force’s investigation, a car was searched in the High Street in Ryde late yesterday afternoon, with items seized from within.
The 39-year-old has been bailed until 15th August while enquiries into the full circumstances are carried out.
