UPDATE – The person has now been identified by Police.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a reported shoplifting from Tesco in Ryde earlier this month.
On Tuesday 2nd December between 12:10 and 12:15, a woman has reportedly entered Tesco on Brading Road in Ryde and left the store with grocery items to the value of £89 without paying.
Following enquiries, we are now able to share an image of a woman who we believe may be able to assist with our investigation into this incident.
She is described as:
- Between 50 to 60-years-old
- White
- Large build
- With long blonde hair in a bun
- Wearing a calf-length green sleeveless hooded puffa coat, dark rimmed glasses, UGG style boots, with a black leather style backpack, and a cream-coloured hoodie
A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
“If you recognise this woman or were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, please call 101 and quote 44250547482.
“Additionally, we’d like to hear from you if you have CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that may assist our enquiries.
“You can also share any information with us online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, below: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or report via their website, below: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/

50 to 60?
Shuddagone to specsavers!
More like 40-50!
Can the cctv not be used to follow her to her transport and then use the number plate to identify her ?
We all end up paying higher prices because of people stealing from shops.
>Large build
Maybe she’s just bulking
Back in the day at Ryde High School, anyone of a similar build to the woman would be called fat.
I see Island Echo has published another female stealing from Tesco, Ryde:

How does Tesco arrive at an estimate of £200?
I thought that goods not scanned (paid for) set off an alarm. Where were the security team?
