Police are conducting a search of Culver Down with the assistance of HM Coastguard and Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat this morning (Thursday).
Officers are understood to be looking for a vulnerable individual at the beauty spot overlooking Sandown Bay.
Coastguard Rescue Officers from Bembridge and Ventnor are on scene at the top of the cliff, with Sandown Lifeboat conducting a sweep of the coastline below.
UPDATE @ 09:52 – Search teams have now been stood down from the incident.
The male has been located safe and well elsewhere.
