UPDATED: Police are in attendance in Newport this evening (Monday) where it is understood a man has been quizzed following an alleged incident involving a 13-year-old girl.
According to witnesses, a group of people were seen arguing with a man prior to the arrival of Police as a result of what is understood to be an ‘incident’ in the toilets of McDonalds.
Several Police units were mobilised to the scene on St James’ Street and South Street at around 18:15.
Island Echo believes the man has been quizzed by Police but not detained.
UPDATE @ 20:05 – Further reports indicate the unknown man was allegedly coaxing a group of young girls into the toilets of McDonalds in currently unclear circumstances.
Police were called by concerned individuals.
