Police and HM Coastguard are attending an ongoing incident at Ventnor seafront this morning (Thursday).
Shortly before 08:45 a number of officers were seen to be rushing towards La Falaise car park at the far end of the Esplanade.
According to Island Echo readers, Police appear to be searching the cliff top at the seaside location.
HM Coastguard are also on scene and it’s understood Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat has been tasked to the incident.
UPDATE @ 10:58 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the discovery of a concerning note led to the emergency response earlier this morning.
Coastguard teams from Bembridge and Ventnor are now standing down from the incident, as are police.
Bembridge RNLI remain at sea.
No persons have been located.
