Police have been called to a single car collision between Binstead and Fishbourne this morning (Saturday).
A Citroen Xsara Picasso has left the road and come to rest on its side in a ditch off Quarr Hill, near to the entrance to Quarr Abbey.
Officers responded to the scene at just before 11:15, but it’s unclear what time the collision occurred.
No injuries have been reported.
The road remains open in both directions as the crashed vehicle is off the carriageway.

I think you’ll find it was that ‘innocent’ looking pole, they’re always jumping out and letting the ditches take the blame.
The ditch isn’t the issue it’s the driver…
More than likely in a rush, driving without due care, on their phone , drink or drugs ! You don’t just drive along the road at 40 and fall into a ditch. If it is unclear what happened when police attended I take it the driver did one ? Sounds dodgy

I agree the black stuff makes a better surface to drive on ,maybe they should pass this on to all those parking on grass verges especially Royal Mail delivery drivers etc why do these people think that’s it’s ok to screw up all the green areas
No idea how that happened, pin the tail on the donkey time i think. I suppose the most obvious is not looking where you are going.
Can’t even blame a low sun as would have been behind, assuming the car was traveling in the direction it’s facing. Probably like a lot of drivers, too busy being distracted by their phone, or the ditch simply got in the way. Otherwise, maybe the lamp post was actually very clever in dodging the oncoming car as thought it was being aimed for!
First the hedges were jumping out at vehicles, then the trees joined in and now the ditches are at it.
I wonder what is next, Bus shelters or even No entry signs?
