53-year-old Rory Morris has been charged with the murder of his wife after she was found dead at a property in Ryde on Friday.
Police were called to the property at 79 St John’s Road, Ryde at 01:30 on Friday morning after the alarm was raised by a concerned member of the public.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary found Tesco employee Deborah Morris, 51, dead inside the semi-detached house.
A post mortem examination has concluded that Mrs Morris died from multiple stab wounds.
Rory Morris, who also lived at the address, was arrested at the scene and was carted off to Newport Police Station for questioning.
Sources have told Island Echo that the pair were always on the telephone arguing to each other at every opportunity during her working hours at Tesco as a stock controller.
Detectives from Hampshire’s Major Investigation Team were granted a time extension to question Morris until this afternoon (Saturday). Following rigorous questioning, the Crown Prosecution Service have decided to charge Mr Morris with murder.
The grief-struck family of Deborah Morris have described her as “caring, loving, giving and devoted mother, grandma, daughter, wife and friend”.
Morris will now appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Monday.
