Freshwater man Graham Medway has admitted the sickening rape of a toddler at a beauty spot in the West Wight.
Medway carried out the horrendous crime in woodland at Fort Victoria Country Park on 31st August – Bank Holiday Monday.
The rapist will now appear before the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing in January, where he faces the possibility of life behind bars. In the meantime, he will be remanded in prison whilst reports are prepared on his risk to the public.
Graham Medway’s admission of guilt means the family do not have to sit through weeks of distressing details about that afternoon.
It’s been confirmed that he did not know his victim.
Medway, formally of Edinburgh Road in Freshwater, was charged with the rape of a child under the age of 13 on 23rd September. He will appear before the Crown Court on Friday 8th January 2021 for sentencing.

the girl does have a chance to be able to put it behind her – it will take many, many years though, she will be affected for a long time, she won’t actually be able to deal with and process what happened until she is much older and even then it will be a traumatic time.
With the right understanding and support from her family, she will have a chance of getting through it – not all are lost, however, it will take a massive amount of inner strength on her part to deal with something she should never have had to experience.
