Police, fire and ambulance crews have all responded to reports of persons trapped in a car following a crash on Forelands Road in Bembridge this evening (Thursday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised appliances from Bembridge, Ryde and Newport to the scene of the crash outside Inver House at just gone 16:35.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were also deployed to the crash, alongside an ambulance officer and colleagues from Hampshire Constabulary.
However, the incident isn’t as serious as first feared and emergency services are now standing down.
The damage sustained to the 2 vehicles – an Audi A3 and a VW Golf – is minor. No one is thought to have been seriously injured.
The road was closed for a time resulting in a diversion and delay for Southern Vectis’ Route 8 bus, but it has since re-opened.
