A team of 5 from the Ryde Swimming Club Masters team flew to Guernsey last weekend to compete in the 32nd Guernsey Masters International Swim Meet.
Held at the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in St. Peter Port, the Island cohort were competing against swimmers from the Channel Islands and as far afield in the UK as London, Wrexham and Southport.
Matthew Sussmes won 4 golds, Isobel Foster won 1 gold, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes, Jenny Ball won 2 golds, Imogen Sussmes won 2 silvers , and Sam Sussmes in a return to competitive swimming after a long break won 1 silver.
In addition, Ryde took gold in a closely fought mixed 200m FS relay (Imogen Sussmes, Matthew Sussmes, Isobel Foster and Sam Sussmes).
