Mary Spender, a songwriter and musician based in Bristol who recently reached number 4 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts with her single ‘Willpower’, is set to appear at Ventnor Arts Club tomorrow (Saturday 25th October).
This Summer saw the release of the ‘Faux Americana – EP’. Recorded in London and Nashville, it has been produced by Ant West (We The Wild, Futures, Layla) and recorded with Aaron David Rodgers (Grammy Nominated Producer based in Nashville). The past year has seen Mary support Matthew Mayfield, Sam Bradley, Trampled by Turtles, Bruno Major, Sandi Thom, Ruarri Joseph and a tour with comedian Dr Phil Hammond.
She played at Ronnie Scott’s and Glastonbury Festival, completed a solo tour of the UK, Germany and USA, and was even described as “one to watch” by Seasick Steve when he caught her set at the Larmer Tree Festival.
Stephen Izatt of Ventnor Arts Club said:
“Mary has visited us before and rewarded audiences with a wonderfully engaging and enjoyable night of original music.
“She’s been on the road and in the studio since her last visit and has new material that we’re looking forward to hearing. We’re also hoping she’s got some good road stories”.
Tickets are available now from www.ventnorartsclub.com or 01983 857060.
