A man in his 30’s has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences following an incident in Ventnor last night (Sunday).
5 Police units responded to an address of Albert Street in the town at around 22:00 after reports were received regarding a domestic-related incident.
Upon arrival, officers made the arrest of a man in his 30’s on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The man was escorted to a waiting Police van where he was then further arrested for criminal damage and the assault of an emergency worker – thought to be spitting at an officer.
The man remains in custody in Newport Police Station at this time.
