A man has died this evening after collapsing while out on a boat in the Solent.

RNLI crews from Yarmouth raced to the scene north of Boulder this evening in an attempt to rescue the man and get him the medical attention needed.

Unfortunately, after being transferred to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance, he was pronounced dead.

The Police marine unit and Yarmouth RNLI were called shortly after 18:30 after receiving a Mayday call from the boat saying a crew member had collapsed. Rescue 104 coastguard helicopter was also called to the area.
A police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
