Police on the Isle of Wight have arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of robbery following an incident in Brading last night (Sunday).
Officers were deployed to Lower Furlongs at 21:18 when the control room received a 999 call from a member of the public reporting a robbery.
Multiple Police vehicles rushed to the scene and officers conducted a search of the immediate area – some were seen equipped with a shield and accompanied by a Police dog handler.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed to Island Echo that a 21-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
He remains in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.
UPDATE TUESDAY – Harrison Joseph Blake, 21, of West Street, Newport has been charged with robbery and criminal damage.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 15:00 – Mr Blake appeared before Magistrates and was remanded in custody to appear before the Crown Court on 7th October.
