2 ambulances and an operational commander from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance at a residential address on St John’s Road.
It is here that an individual has been taken seriously unwell, prompting the scrambling of flying medics on board the region’s air ambulance, now based in Southampton.

A retained fire crew from Shanklin is assisting the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
St John’s Road remains open to all traffic.
UPDATE – All resources have stood down from the incident, with the air ambulance returning to base at Southampton Airport.
