ISLANDER WINS £250,000 ON SCRATCHCARD BOUGHT IN SHANKLIN

A lucky Islander is this month celebrating after purchasing a winning National Lottery scratchcard in Shanklin.

The unnamed individual paid a visit to Shanklin News on Regent Street earlier this month and purchased a £2 scratchcard.

To their amazement, they revealed a winning combination to bag a cool quarter of a million pounds.

The identity of the winner is being kept a secret but they have given permission for Shanklin News to celebrate selling the big winner.

Raj Patel, owner of the newsagents, has told Island Echo that another customer of his had a big win around 4 years ago.

Camelot paid a visit to Mr Patel and the store yesterday (Wednesday) and delivered balloons, banners and bunting to display.

Rumours of a big win have already circulated around Shanklin and as a result the scratchcards have been flying out the door, as you can see from the image above.
