APRIL FOOLS: Island Echo has today (Tuesday) announced the arrival of a brand new weekly newspaper for the Isle of Wight, with a cover price of just 30p.
A small, easy-to-read printed newspaper launches next Monday and will contain the latest Island news and information, bringing what you love about Island Echo to your hands and will be available from all newsagents and shops across the Island.
Darren Toogood, editor of Island Echo, said:
“It is great to be able to finally launch our newspaper.
“A modern approach to a traditional news format to really compete with other news sources is exactly what the Island needs and we are about to take the market by storm.
“It’s cheaper, smaller and we feel a Monday release means that you will not miss a thing, especially events that happen on a Thursday afternoon, a Friday and across the weekend and will contain 83, not 93 pages.”
Today’s announcement (Tuesday 1st April) accompanies news that three new reporters will join the Island Echo team, including Ben ‘Big Mac’ McDonald, Theresa Green and Will Iam.
