Island Roads have closed a main road in and out of Newport this morning (Tuesday) for emergency roadworks.
Long Lane has been closed for a distance of 2,137 metres between the junctions of Landscape Lane and Briddlesford Road/Robin Hill Roundabout.
The closure is to facilitate ironwork repairs.
Motorists are being diverted via Staplers Road, Whiterails Road (Blacklands Lane for local traffic) and Briddlesford Road in both directions. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises whilst the road is closed.
UPDATE – The road has now re-opened.
