46-year-old David Soppitt will stand trial in April next year accused of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
At the beginning of October Police were called to a domestic incident on Forest Way in Winford. It’s here that Armed officers shot Mr Soppitt with 2 baton rounds in order to detain him.
Mr Soppitt appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court this morning (Monday) via video link. No plea was entered.
The case has been adjourned to the same court on 21st December, with a trial set for 1st April 2019.
The 46-year-old has been remanded in custody.
