The Met Office are warning Islanders about the risk of ice this evening (Sunday) and overnight into Monday.
Clear skies will allow temperatures to fall widely below freezing allowing icy patches to develop, particularly on untreated surfaces or where overnight wintry showers wash off earlier road treatment.
A yellow severe weather warning has been issued and is in force from 19:00 this evening until 09:00 tomorrow morning.
Motorists should be aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions and slippery surfaces, which could lead to travel disruption.
Island Roads will be gritting the Island’s road network from 02:00 after the last anticipated rainfall. Find out which roads will be treated in your area at www.islandecho.co.uk/gritting-routes.
