April Fools… Hovertravel has unveiled its first ever room fragrance, called Solent ‘65 as part of the 50th anniversary souvenir range.
The fragrance will transport you back to 1965 – the year Hovertravel ran their first service.
Loretta Lale, Hovertravel’s Commercial and Marketing Manager, said:
“This is the closest we can get to time travel. Many room fragrances now claim to replicate a particular place such as the Yorkshire Dales or Exmoor National Park, so we have taken the concept a stage further, transporting our customers through space and time by scent alone”.
Hovertravel commissioned the Federation of Occupational Olfactory Learning to create a sensory experience which matches exactly what was in the air in 1965. This required detailed research with some of Hovertravel’s customers who can still remember the smells from half a century ago.
Loretta adds:
“The top notes are, as to be expected, salt with water and new leather plus new carpet come together with more salt to make the base notes. To keep the seaside aroma fresh the water is supersaturated producing a light and lovely fragrance to spritz in a room, a car or an office”.
Hand blended and available only in limited quantities, Solent ’65, is destined to evoke memories of hovercraft travel for anyone who remembers the Sixties and to give everyone else a sense of what that decade smelt like.
This fragrance will only be available in our terminals on 1st April 2015.
