The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to an incident involving a horse in a field off Horsebridge Hill in Newport this evening (Monday).
1 fire appliance from Newport and the Animal Rescue Unit from Newport are currently in attendance at the scene having been alerted to the plight of the animal shortly before 17:15.
It is understood that firefighters are working to free a horse that has become stuck between 2 tree branches.
A vet is present.
The road remains open under but traffic is heavy in the area – this may have a small knock-on effect for Southern Vectis Route 1 buses.

Not the same horse that fell down a hole in the same field last winter?
sadly that one did not make it
How great our fire service is to help poor animals. God bless these men.
…..(and women)!
I agree, they are amazing. Hoping for an update on this story xx
