Police have been called to a minor road traffic collision in Wootton this morning (Monday).
The incident has taken place on Station Road, between Gravel Pit Road and Packsfield Lane.
The road is currently partially blocked by the white Civic, which has come to a stop side-on across the carriageway after colliding with a parked car.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured in the incident.
Southern Vectis say Route 9 buses will run via Fairlee Road only until the scene has been cleared.
UPDATE @ 12:05 – Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are currently tending to 1 individual.
Meanwhile, firefighters are dealing with a fuel spillage at the scene.
UPDATE – 1 male has been taken to hospital with minor injuries caused by the deployment of the vehicle’s airbag.

Mary Rose Ave does not join Station Road. But we know where you mean. There is usually one pickup truck parked halfway on the pavement there, while everyone else parks on the other side.
The speed of drivers on station road is horrendous .especially early morning and at night.
Jim the owner of that pick up .has a driveway ,but does not use it .
It’s down to people driving to avoid obstructions. If the pick up is parked dangerously, causing an obstruction then police will deal with it. Hitting something that is not moving and saying it should not be parked there is not justification for driving without due care.
It’s a bug bear that pick up. I live opposite. Nearly got taken out by a HGV and a car colliding few weeks back
Going by the skid Mark’s could be speed involved
Are those the skid marks his pants?! Lol.
Reply to Tim C. My sense of humour. Good one!
Terry .probably right 99% of vehicles using station road are speeding .makes my pee boil .
The boy racers come out at night .makes my Windows rattle they go so fast ,then they scream up bridlesford road as fast as they can go .
Some really old blonde lady owns a black pickup that’s normally always parked on the wrong side right near the bend, she moved it pretty quick when the police turned up,
No where near Fernside Way/Mary Rose Avenue. It is down by Gravel Pit Lane.
You can’t make it up
I was following a island roads van in arreton this morning and the driver mounted the pavement not once but twice we were only doing just under 30 mph so god only knows what the driver was up too
I did memorise the reg but its no use reporting the driver as they are all as bad as each other
Another island driver who cant drive and needs taking off the road……..

Can you advise me why you have not posted my earlier comments ?
Wow, not a single vehicle accident, how unusual
What would you call someone who regularly parks on a bend, half on the footpath and half on the carriageway clearly causing dangerous obstructions for both road users and pedestrians. Gets abusive when questioned about their parking options and are most likely a contributory factor in a road traffic accident – aside from the driver(s) involved that is ?
Accidents Don’t Have to Happen !
Totally agree with your comment. I know lots of examples of these selfish, inconsiderate aholes. It’s usually people with large oldish vehicles who don’t care if it gets scratched, and know they’ll never get a ticket. Also some people use old vehicles as blockers to stop other people parking near their house, and taking what they believe is their territory. Some of these vehicles look like they last got an MOT in 1988.
Have you reported it to the council? I believe you can petition for double yellow lines to be put in place. Although, as we all know, takes a death for that to happen.
Not parked there at midday when I passed so maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks ?
