From stamps to passports, here is a list of some of the major changes to everyone’s daily lives following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The change to the nation’s currency will be a gradual one, expected to take a few years at least. All notes and coins with Queen Elizabeth’s face on them will still be valid whilst new ones with King Charles’ face are being minted. One major change to the currency will see the King face in the other direction – to the left.
Another major change will be that to passports. Currently issued in the name of Her Majesty, all passports will still be valid until their expiry with new ones issued in the name of the new King – His Majesty King Charles III.
Wholesale changes will occur in the postal/delivery sector with stamps to be re-issued with the face of the new King. Those bearing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth are still to be valid for use for the time being, however. Post boxes up and down the country will also be changing to mark the new King. Previous editions were marked with EIIR (E for Elizabeth and R for Regina), new ones manufactured now will feature the King’s cypher – but it is expected to be a little while until we see those.
Some simpler, more novel changes will see the ‘Her’ in Her Majesty’s Coastguard, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, Her Majesty’s Treasury and Her Majesty’s Prison changed to ‘His’, whilst Queen’s Counsel will be renamed King’s Counsel.
Lastly, products that have been granted a Royal Warrant, meaning that the company that makes them supplies the Royal Households on a regular basis, will see their warrant sticker changed to say ‘By Appointment To His Majesty the King’.

I thought there would be just a symbol on stamps with maybe “formerly known as Prince” printed below.
brilliant.we need a laugh
Hilarious.
The Queen has just passed away.
Why waste money in these difficult times.
Keep money and stamps as they are.
I would imagine King Charles III would not mind.
I thought all postage stamps were being replaced with a bar code.
No, postboxes will not be changing at all. There are still postboxes in use today that bear the cypher of King George VI and Queen Victoria. Any new ones manufactured now will have the new cypher but the old ones won’t be going anywhere at all.
Imagine the ears on a stamp, need bigger stamps, only jesting King
Instead of His/Her, surely in these woke times should it not be ‘THEIR’ 😉
