Green candidate Vix Lowthion has come out on top in an exit poll carried out by Island Echo and the Isle of Wight Observer following Wednesday night’s Isle of Wight East hustings event. Crowds packed into Ryde School’s theatre to hear from all 6 candidates standing in next month’s General Election, the first since the Isle of Wight was split into 2 parliamentary seats. Every audience member was handed a pencil and a polling slip to vote for their preferred candidate for the Isle of Wight East seat.
A total of 161 votes were cast with 1 spoilt.
