The main road through Godshill will be closed in both directions this evening (Wednesday) to allow for emergency repair works by Southern Water.
High Street will close from its junction with Church Hill to its junction with Hollow Lane from 18:00. Work is being carried out this evening to minimise the disruption to motorists and to enable the works to be completed today.
A man hole cover outside the village store needs to be replaced urgently, according to Island Roads.
Motorists will have to divert via Whitely Bank, Apse Heath, Arreton and Blackwater in both directions.
UPDATE @ 22:30 – High St, Godshill has now re-opened in both directions.
