UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a garage fire at a property on Marlborough Road in Ryde this morning (Monday).
2 appliances from Ryde have been called out to a residential address near the junction with Marlborough Close.
The alarm was raised at just gone 11:40.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using a mix of main jets and hose reels to bring the fire, which is located in the link-detached outbuilding, under control.
No one has been injured as a result of the incident.
Marlborough Road has been closed in both directions.
UPDATE @ 12:15 – The fire has been brought under control and crews are now damping down the area and carrying out investigations.
4 BA, 2 hose reels, a main jet and 2 thermal imaging cameras have been utlitised.
The road remains close in both directions.
UPDATE @ 12:42 – Firefighters have now stood down from the incident and Marlborough Road has re-opened in both directions.
A large amount of fire damaged material has been removed from the 2m x 5m garage.
